Bonobo

I absolutely love Bonobo. I remember seeing them at The Big Chill in 2009, which was an electric evening. Bobobo - a male dj, uses beauitufl muse, Andrea Triana for in his new video for single, Eyesdown. The colours are magical in the video but what is inspiratational is the costume deisgn by GAGGLE costume desiger, OOPS Fashion. The colours and textures against the trip-hop beats are beautiful. The director of the video is Steve Glashier who is also a photographer and shot and directed; Late of The Pier, Bobobo (The Keeper) Fat Boy Slim (Champion Sound) to name a few. I love his photography work as well.

I love.

Antipodium

7 Sister Circle Bust Top -£115 - Antipodium

I adore this bustier. I am loving the brown and the black, two of my favourite colours. I am very interested in what i could possibly wear this with? Skinny jeans and doc martins possibly?

Antipodium - The label started in 2006 in small but trendy Shoreditch, London. Looking at the image below its no sduprisingthat he has london influences. Check out the Rock and punk sheek that oozes from this look. The Doc Martins help support the look of course but the effortless sublimity of it makes me happy indeed. Australian made womenswear, its stocked in Urbam Outfitters and Net-APorter.

This is amazing! And look, doc martins!
Check out some looks from their 2010 shows

I love how effortless this 'London ' Look is. I can imagine wearing a checked shirt open with a skirt, and timberland boots aswell? Who would of thought...

Music Review Blog

I love fashion but i also love music and i seem to be cramping my blog with idle posts of music i like and things i like to do in my spare time. I have now set up another blog, called Common Culture. Its based around the London nightlife and day time activites that happen that i review.

Dont worry i will still be here....

Add it to your follwings too -:)

Wednesday

Fred Butler, Gaga and Reem

have had a really hectic week since i last did a shoot with SUNNY. Work has been hard and also the idea of looking for a new home! I am looking to move in with friends after around 4 months when they have got themselves together, but for now i am happy to bob along and rent a room in a house. I have been finding some random weird adverts on Gumtree - asking to pay £400 deposit upfront! Right, whatever. So if you know anyone (girls, boys, aniamals) that have a flat central-ish let me know!
I have been spending my evenings spying on celebrties in LOOK! and Vogue. One designer that has had me 'at hello' is Reem Acra. Emma Roberts looked lovely in a royal blue satin dress with a centre split. Nicole Richie also looked fab in a seqin number.

This Top and Skirt combo below is lushious. It reminds me of a crocodile in contrast with the ocean and not a murky swamp.

How amazing is this yellow? It scream Spring and Summer! I adore the ice organge heels - very 1970's glamour with a hint of retro kicks. The bow allows the dress to adopt a more romantic aura, instead of a 'mumsy' glow, which i feel some of Reem's collection can have the failure of doing. This would look lovely teamed with or without the belt i feel.
I am facinated by her inspiration - i can only conclude her background has a lot to do with the colour choices and fabrics chosen (Indian and Chinese)
Her fabrics are soft, shimering and delicate on the silhoette which is perfect for spring.

Ashish was loving the cardigans at LFW - i cant help but feel spring is upon us and maybe we should leave them at the door? I say this, but my bargain from Brick Lane was a gem and i wear it all the time. River Island has a great alternative if you cant find great vintage at £30!

For those of you that love or hate Lady GaGa, you have ot give her credit for her outfits. In her new video 'Telephone' i am loving her Telephone hat which is designed by UK Designer, Fred Butler.  The designer Graduated from the University of Brighton in 2003 and has since done fantastic editorial and commerical work. Fred has created styles for La Roux, Little Boots and Patrick Wolf. (Thewebsite is fantasic and fun to look around too, have a peek) Check out the blog: http://fredbutlerstyle.blogspot.com/

I love that Gaga herself designed the cigertte glasses and chain dress! Legend.

Amazing.

SUNNY

This is the cute little message that customers receive with their garment thanks to designer, Sunny.

One of my favourite jackets which has lovely detail on both shoulders with exceptional accessories such as studs and a gothic chain added to one side. Its lined in quality and reminds me of royal vintage.

One of SUNNY's favourites in his collection, this ice pink jacket is very 1950's swing! I love it.

Just a few of the handmade jackets SUNNY and his team took out with him to Little Venice for the shoot. He wanted to get around 10 looks for the Lookbook but due to weather conditions we only shot 4. Amazing array of textures and colours, a rail i would love to see somewhere in my wardrobe!

Another example of the detail that his garments undertake. A chain brings both breasts of the jacket together, lined with pure baby blue silk which is one of the colours that is bang on trend at the moment.

Model Tyla and Make-Up artists Amelia get to work despite the weather conditions. Freezing model Tyla never complained once! Amelia wanted to stick with the Rock and Roll influence that Sunny uses to inspire his collection. A beautiful barnet that was curled and then back-combed was a great addition to the make up which was electric pink lipstick and dark fearless eyes. MAC was used by Amelia who is a professional make-up artist who recently covered Marc Jacobs at London Fashion Week. A selection of vintage hats and shoes were supplied by stylist, Klaudia, who assisted with designer SUNNY in creative direction for the shoot. 'She has such an ecliptic style' he blushed at his muse.

This jacket was teamed with heels and stockings as well as vintage hats (shot on a canal boat too!) which connotated to me the turn of the 19th century. London streets filled with beautiful flamboyant women who were permiscuous yet eklegant in their work and theirt duty. I loved this shot on the barge which i cant wait to see from Dave the photographer. It was one of my favourite looks!

The stockings were out in force again for another look, this time with a Russian hat. Despite the cold Tyla was still giving 100% and was the muse for an elegant and fearless shot which Dave captured off the cuff. Sunny was right behind the creative choices all of the way acting as an assistant and helping where he could!

Male model Toby in a tailor made suit by Sunny himself.

Westfield shopping centre is host to an exciting new Fashion exhibtion between the 18th and 20th March. Erin O'Connor will open the show which will support Naomi Cambell's Fashion for Relief Campaign and ON|OFF Fashion designers, The Doll.  The first night will be a VIP event in collaboration with The British Fashion Council and will be a spectactular 3 day event! The Artium exhibiton space will shocase 54 of this season's hottest looks from over 700 hundred fashion brands. Located in West London (White City) this will be an exiting and interesting showcase where i could possibly make some great friends and see some highstreet and designer goods.

Liberty of London and Fred Perry have both teamed together to create an amazing collection. Both the heart of British fashion,  the classic Fred Perry garments will focus on the heritage Liberty print; 'Mark' (Paisly) and  'Edenham' (Floral). The collection will be available in April! Although i dont have anyone to buy Perry for, i would be interested in possible footwear with these prints on. Bring on spring!

Yesterday i spent the whole day in Camden Lock where i assisted with the shoot of SUNNY's new collection. A very windy and bitterly cold day it didnt put the designer off and the shoot went exceptionally well along the canal side. Photographer Dave was fanastic and very professional as were modesl Toby and Tyla. Desipite the cold they both trotted around in barely there clothes with only jackets and shoes to keep them warm! We managed to find some canal boats and some lovely locations in Little Venice near Primrose Hill. The sun wasnt on our side but we are looking to complete the collection next week. 4 jackets down i will update the blog with behind the scenes shots and an interview with the designer himself.

Paris Fashion Week - Loewe

Backtsage at Stella McArtney AW10. I am loving the headwear and the make-up. Makes me think of beautiful exotic royalty in a urban setting.

STELLA

LOEWE - Amazing bags and accessories that are modelled exquisitely at Paris Fashion Week.

How traditional and feminine are these accessories?Remind me of the 1950's era, American Housewives tottering around in luscious heels while baking blueberry pie. Loving the tights as well. Topshop are opting into the tights this season, although knowing me i would htech them!

Sunday

I am in awe of this bracelet by New York designer, Kara Ross. that i saw in Liberty last time i was in London. As a liberty card member i was invited to attend a drink and food tasting in the sweet cafe they have on the ground floor. Complimentary champers and some discount on the designer clothes made me happy, unfortunately i was unable to attend. Next time, i will go! Kara is one of the only accessory designers that i have noted used wood for earings and bracelets in an inovitative way. Obviously if you guys find any other ones, let me know. Her website is amazing with cute bags and detailed jewels.
Kara Ross Image from website.

Pamela Love is another designer who is making me smile. Spring is upon us and i love wearing cute dresses and vest tops with lots of clobber around my neck. I am really interested in jewelery that is not too delicate and 'feminine'. Her take on serpent snakes in silver and bronze are lovely, incripted with stones and amber stones. These are a few of my favourite pieces from her new collection on her website. I see connotations of tribal influences which are beautiful Her collection is actually inspired by the film 'Where the Wild Things Are'; and she has collaborated with MAC and in the production of True Blood, showcasing her great deisgns. I can see why True Blood would be a good call, her necklaces have a gothic theme.. I wish i could indulge in some at the moment! Her PDF seen here.

Large Claw Necklace

I love this sword ring, it is one of my favourites!

Finally, i am loving these leggings from American Apparel that i spotted while snooping in Covent Garden. They are amazing, i saw some in Primakr similar but they just didnt fit right.

Excuse the Mess

This weekend has gone so quickly! Friday i went to a secret warehouse party in East London called Excuse the Mess. It was really good, i went to one last month which was a smaller venue but this was still great. I danced away to Techno and managed to get papped a few times with some of my mates. Met some cool people while chilling in the upstairs seating area, some producers and promoters who i got some contact details off and are up for getting me involved in the next one.

Wednesday

I have been flicking through ES Magazine, the official sponsers of LFW while i have been in London and i have been blown away by designer, David Koma. Although i didnt get to see his collection while at LFW, i adore what i have seen on the glossy pages.
The sun has been out - and i am loving the cold mornings with bright sun. I bought 3 pairs of Sunglasses today, all completey different to what i have bought before. I am usually a fan of the Ray Ban style, but i have opted for a wider square frame with a blast of colour. (I will snap soon and show you...)

Went to The Book Club last night in Shoreditch, it was amazing! What was boring evening at home turned into a great night with friends seeing the music act Modeselektor. From Berlin, this twopiece blew away a crowded underground bar in a stylish venue which was lit with lightbulbs all over the ceiling. It was free aswell! Its not a great picture but it was lush, i wish i could of captured it better...

Next Wednesday i have a shoot with designer SUNNY. He has organised a shoot around Camden and i am excited to get to chat with him and see how he has evolved as a designer and what his future plans are. It will also be great experiecing a shoot from behind the scenes and helping out if needed! I have a lot of planning to do. I also have to get in conact with Notion Magazine and DUHOUR to feature. Fingers crossed!

Monday

Holly Fulton

Love the amazing jacket here i saw at Topshop exhibit @ LFW

Holly Fulton's S/S 10 collection is lovely. Her plastic colourful pieces are delightful to see on the catwalk considering the plain and contemporary palettes other designers are showing. Her first A/W09 Collection was a lot more of a bold collection which shocked me when i first saw it. This is subtle but still has vivid necklines and detailed plastics which are hand sewn on. Symmetrical shapes, bold shoulders and harsh lines make up this beautiful designers collection. I adore.
